I'm Aaryan Dhakal, a back-end engineer who has been writing software for about eight years. I build the parts users never see — APIs, databases, and the automation that removes work nobody should be doing by hand. Right now that means QuiccPOS, a restaurant POS and online ordering platform I built and run myself — live at Lombardi's Pizza in Towson.

A.S. in Computer Science from CCBC, May 2026. Now working toward a B.S. in Computer Science at Wilmington University, expected May 2028. Based in Towson, Maryland — open to relocation.

QuiccPOS

A restaurant point-of-sale and online ordering platform I built on my own. It's running live at Lombardi's Pizza in Towson, MD — its first client — so every deploy has a real dinner rush behind it.

Go backend on AWS in Docker; GitHub Actions ships zero-downtime releases behind Traefik, with a separate staging server to test first
Orders reach the kitchen through a small Raspberry Pi agent over Tailscale that prints tickets — without exposing the store's network to the internet
Each restaurant gets its own PostgreSQL schema, so one client's data never touches another's

Are you available for work?

Yes. I'm looking for back-end, platform and infrastructure work — full-time, internship, or contract — while I finish my B.S. in Computer Science at Wilmington University. I'm open to relocation. Email me at [email protected] and I'll answer the same day.

What's your stack?

Go (Echo) and Python (FastAPI, Django) on the server, PostgreSQL, SQLite and Redis underneath, TypeScript and React when the browser is involved. I ship with Docker, Kubernetes, Traefik and GitHub Actions on AWS and Linux, and watch it with OpenTelemetry. I care more about the data model than the framework.

What do you actually build?

Systems that keep running when nobody is watching them. A point-of-sale that has to take an order during a dinner rush, a homelab that has to stay segmented and patched, a script that files the ticket so a human doesn't have to. I get real satisfaction out of making something powerful from nothing, and slightly more out of deleting a chore permanently.

Do you enjoy working in a team?

I do, and I go looking for it — I led a five-person team to a national win at the NASA Space Apps Challenge. Hackathons are my favourite, because working next to people with different stacks is the fastest way I know to learn and to adapt to what they need. I've worked with people across very different corners of programming and it has made me a better engineer every time.

Where are you based?

Towson, Maryland. I'm a citizen of Nepal, and I studied at Youngstown State University in Ohio before moving to Baltimore for CCBC, where I earned my A.S. in Computer Science in May 2026. I'm now at Wilmington University and open to relocating for the right role.
